Terms of service

The terms of using KÖGN.

These terms govern your use of kognhealth.com, the free assessment, the community, and any products or subscriptions you buy from us. By using the site you accept them.

Who we are

KÖGN Health (“KÖGN”, “we”, “us”) operates this site from the United Kingdom. Company and contact details are set out under Company details below.

Using the site

You may use KÖGN for your own personal, lawful purposes. You agree not to misuse the site — no attempts to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, reverse-engineer it, or access areas you have not been granted.

Accounts (including the community and any subscriber area) are personal to you. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.

Our content and your content

The Dictionary, reviews, guides, evidence grades and assessment logic are KÖGN’s intellectual property. You may read and share links freely, but you may not republish substantial portions as your own.

Where you post to the community, you keep ownership of what you write but grant us a licence to display and moderate it. Community conduct rules apply, and we may remove content or accounts that break them.

No guarantees of outcome

KÖGN provides evidence-graded information and a personalised protocol. We do not promise specific cognitive, health or performance results — individual responses vary. See the Health disclaimer below.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, KÖGN is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising from your use of the site or any single order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date at the top of this page; continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Privacy

How we handle your data.

We collect as little as we can and are plain about what we do with it. For UK GDPR purposes, KÖGN Health is the data controller for personal data processed through this site.

What we collect

Depending on how you use KÖGN, we may hold:

  • Contact details — your email address (and name, if you give it) when you join the dispatch, take the assessment, contact us, or create a community account.
  • Assessment responses — the answers you give to generate your cognitive profile and protocol.
  • Account & community data — your profile, posts and replies if you join the community.
  • Order data — what you bought and the status of your subscription (card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us).
  • Technical data — limited analytics and security logs, and cookie data described in the Cookie policy below.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your data to run the assessment, deliver and personalise your protocol, fulfil and support orders, operate the community, and — with your consent — send the dispatch and product email.

Our lawful bases are: performance of a contract (orders, subscriptions, the assessment you request); consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies); and our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving KÖGN. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the processors that make the service work — currently our email provider (Loops), our authentication and database provider (Supabase), our payment processor, and hosting/infrastructure providers. Each acts on our instructions under a data-processing agreement. We never sell your data.

Where data is processed outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe; assessment and account data until you ask us to delete it or close your account.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email us at privacy@kognhealth.com and we will respond within one month.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

Our use of cookies.

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use as few as possible and never use them to build advertising profiles of you across the web.

Essential cookies

These keep the site working — your session and login state in the community, security, and your cookie preferences. They don’t need consent because the site can’t function without them.

Analytics

If we use analytics, it is privacy-respecting and aggregate — to understand which pages are useful, not to identify you. Where required, we ask for your consent first.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site — such as the community login — from working.

Subscriptions

Orders, billing & cancellation.

KÖGN supplements are sold on a recurring subscription. We keep the commercial terms as straight as the editorial ones.

Subscriptions & billing

When you subscribe, you authorise us to take recurring payment for each cycle at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. We’ll tell you the price and cadence before you commit, and email you around each renewal.

Prices include applicable taxes where shown. We may change prices for future cycles with reasonable notice; changes never apply to a cycle already paid.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future renewals; it doesn’t refund a cycle already dispatched. There are no cancellation fees.

Right to cancel & refunds

As a UK consumer you generally have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For reasons of health and hygiene, supplements that have been unsealed or opened may be exempt from this right once delivered.

If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in full — contact us and we’ll make it right.

Availability

We may decline or cancel an order (with a full refund) where a product is unavailable, where there’s an obvious pricing error, or where we cannot lawfully supply you.

Health disclaimer

What KÖGN is — and isn’t.

This is the most important section. KÖGN is an evidence-graded reference and a food-supplement service, not a medical one.

Not medical advice

Everything on KÖGN — the Dictionary, reviews, guides, the assessment and your protocol — is for information and general wellbeing. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for the judgement of a qualified healthcare professional.

Always consult a doctor or pharmacist before starting any supplement, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, taking medication, or managing a health condition. If you experience an adverse reaction, stop and seek medical advice.

Food supplements

Our products are food supplements. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and they are not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the stated recommended dose.

About our evidence grades

Evidence grades are KÖGN’s own editorial assessment of the published research as we read it at the time of writing. They are a transparency tool, not a regulatory rating or a clinical claim, and they may change as the science moves. A high grade reflects the strength of the evidence — not a promise of results for you.

The assessment

The assessment is an evidence-informed self-assessment that produces a profile and a suggested protocol. It is not a clinical or psychometric diagnosis. An honest “you may not need a stack” is a valid outcome, and the recommendation engine is kept separate from how much you’d spend.
